This summer, Stuff the Bus is rallying Ottawa to ensure no child starts the school year empty-handed. As demand for our Sharing in Student Success program reaches an all-time high, uniting local businesses, residents, and partner agencies is critical to equipping 1,500 additional students with brand-new backpacks and grade-appropriate supplies.

Why Your Support Matters
As newcomers to Canada, my family faced many challenges - financial strain, uncertainty, and the daunting task of preparing our children for a new school year in a new country. The Sharing in Student Success program was a lifeline. Thanks to the Caring and Sharing Exchange and its generous donors, our children received backpacks filled with school supplies that brought not only relief, but joy, pride, and confidence.
This initiative does more than provide supplies. It brings smiles, restores dignity, and reminds families like ours that we are not alone. It’s a gesture of community, compassion, and commitment to education. We are deeply grateful and hope one day to give back, just as you have given to us.

One of the students that I worked with did not attend school at all last year due to anxiety and ASD. I registered her for a backpack in the hopes we would be able to transition her back into school. I just spoke to her mom, and she told me C. loved her backpack so much that she asked to go to school.

I am so grateful for everyone who worked so hard to make back to school easy on the parents. I am a mom of five, where four go to school. The help that I got was a relief especially when things are extremely expensive, and we live from pay cheque to pay cheque. No words can express my happiness and my gratefulness for all the supporters who made this a success and easy for parents. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and thank you, from all of my kids.
